Terms of Service

These terms are the rules for using Kenya Mpya (kenyampya.co.ke). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Your account

• Give true information when you sign up. One person, one account.
• Keep your password safe, and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for what’s posted from it.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use Kenya Mpya.
• Tell us straight away at hello@kenyampya.co.ke if you think someone else is using your account.

2. What you post

• You keep ownership of your stories, photos and other posts.
• By posting, you let Kenya Mpya show them on the site (and let others echo them, unless you turn echoes off in Settings).
• Post only content you have the right to share.

3. Community rules

Do not post:

• Hate speech, threats, harassment or bullying.
• False information meant to mislead, or impersonation of another person.
• Other people’s private information (phone numbers, ID numbers, home addresses) without their permission.
• Sexual content, graphic violence, or anything illegal under Kenyan law.
• Spam, scams or adverts we haven’t approved.

Rate leaders honestly, based on their work. Criticism is welcome; personal attacks are not.

4. Using the site fairly

• Don’t try to break, overload, scrape or misuse Kenya Mpya, or get into other people’s accounts.
• Don’t use automated tools to create accounts, post or rate.

5. Gold badge and payments

• The Gold (National Pride) badge costs KSh 500 a year, paid with M-Pesa. It lasts one year from payment and doesn’t renew automatically.
• Payments aren’t refundable once the badge is active, except where Kenyan law requires.
• We may remove a badge from an account suspended for breaking these terms.
• Charity donations go to the charity named on the page.

6. Trip plans and information

Trip plans, prices, contacts and AI suggestions are estimates to help you plan. Confirm opening hours, prices and bookings before you travel. Park fees and train fares follow the official published rates at the time we checked them.

7. When we may act

We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these terms or the law. Where we can, we’ll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@kenyampya.co.ke.

8. Our responsibility

Kenya Mpya is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We’re not responsible for what users post, or for decisions made using information on the site, as far as Kenyan law allows.

9. Closing your account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time — see Deleting your account.

10. Changes and law

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know on the site. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
