Before Joining politics, Hon. Lesuuda had a distinguished career in journalism. She worked as a reporter and news anchor for various media outlets, including KTN and K24. Her journalism career was marked by her commitment to reporting on issues affecting marginalized communities, particularly in the arid and semi-arid regions of Kenya.
In 2021, Hon. Lesuuda was honored with the Shujaa Shield Award in the Children and Youth Affairs category, recognizing her efforts in advocating for the rights and well-being of children and youth in Kenya.
