Hon. Ahmed Shakeel Ahmed Shabbir is a Kenyan politician representing Kisumu East Constituency in the National Assembly since 2007. Born in 1953 in Kisumu, he attended Nairobi School, graduating in 1971. He pursued higher education at Middlesex Polytechnic in London, earning a Diploma in Accountancy and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Henley Management College and has undertaken a Master’s in Political Science at Maseno University. Before his parliamentary career, Shabbir served as the Mayor of Kisumu from 2000 to 2002 and chaired the New Nyanza Provincial General Hospital for eleven years. He is affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party
